I can't wait for more great Cruiserweight action in Round 2, especially with a lot of exciting and interesting matchups involved in this upcoming round.
So as the title of this post says, I will be telling you my predictions for the Round 2 of CWC. Let's see how many will I get right!
Feel free to leave your own predictions down below.
Akira Tozawa vs Jack Gallagher
(Japan vs United Kingdom)
As much as I like Jack Gallagher I think he has ZERO chance winning a match against one of the top favorite picks to win this tournament: Akira Tozawa. I can definitely see Tozawa as a semi-finalist or even a finalist!
It would be a very interesting match though as a Strong Style technician like Tozawa will take on the Old School "Bygone Era" style of Gallagher!
I do hope both men gets signed by WWE though! They can definitely be front runners in the upcoming Cruiserweight Division on RAW.
Tajiri vs Gran Metalik
(Japan vs Mexico)
I'm happy to see Tajiri back in the WWE but I don't think he's advancing any further as he might take the loss from one of the most impressive luchadors today: Gran Metalik!
This is definitely one of the matches I'm most looking forward for as we might see these two together take it on like how Tajiri and Super Crazy did back in the day on ECW!
Plus Gran Metalikalready signed a WWE contract so you know they are taking him seriously.
Drew Gulak vs Zack Sabre Jr.
(USA vs United Kingdom)
If you're a fan of the technical style of wrestling then this match is definitely for you! Zack Sabre Jr. often noted as the best pure technical wrestler today will take on an equally good all-around wrestler Drew Gulak!
As for the winner I think it would be ZSJ. He is one of the top picks to win this whole thing so I definitely see him going far in this tournament!
Noam Dar vs Ho Ho Lun
(Scotland vs Hong Kong)
Next up we got a match that could possibly be a good all-around match as Noam Dar takes on Ho Ho Lun.
This is probably the match people are least excited about and quite frankly I don't care who wins since I like both guys anyway. But if I have to pick one I gotta say it's Noam Dar!
Why? Well the only reason really is I know him longer than Ho Ho Lun, plus he's a much better wrestler than the Chinese superstar so yeah there you go.
Brian Kendrick vs Tony Nese
(USA vs USA)
Two in-ring veterans will take each other head-to-head as The Brian Kendrick will faceoff Tony Nese.
This is just going to be another great all-around match. Kendrick had an amazing match against Raul Mendoza on the first round so him working against a 10 year veteran like Nese wouldn't be a problem.
As for the winner I gotta go with Brian Kendrick, no other reason than well he is THE Brian Kendrick!
Kota Ibushi vs Cedric Alexander
(Japan vs USA)
Now this is the match I'm really most looking forward for as two of the best cruiserweights in the world will finally faceoff with each other! "The Golden Star" Kota Ibushi takes on Cedric Alexander.
As much as I like both guys I definitely think Ibushi is the one advancing, I definitely see him being in the finals of this whole thing! But even though Cedric will probably lose, it would still for sure be one helluva match!
TJ Perkins vs Johnny Gargano
(Philippines vs USA)
Okay so this one pardon me but I'm going to be bias. Well I'm from The Philippines and I'm very happy when someone is representing my country so obviously I'm going with TJ Perkins!
Even though most probably Johnny Gargano is gonna win this match, I will still root for my man TJ Perkins.
Speaking of both men, they both had great matches with both of their opponents! TJP & Da Mack had the most entertaining match out of all the CWC 1st Round matches while Gargano & Ciampa had the best overall match in the 1st Round!
If you missed both matches then I highly suggest you watch them, especially Gargano vs Ciampa. They tore the house down and definitely created what in my opinion a Match of the Year contender! Not even kidding.
Lince Dorado vs Rich Swann
(Puerto Rico vs USA)
Last but not the least we got one of the most charismatic wrestlers today: Rich Swann take on Puerto Rico's own: Lince Dorado!
As Michael Cole would say this match will definitely be "Fun To Watch!" (Sorry CMPuls3 lol.)
But anyway this is a match I really don't care who wins since both are deserving but if I have to pick one I gotta go with Rich Swann! It was my first time watching him in that match against Jason Lee and I was instantly hooked!
