The commentators for this event were; Mike Tenay,Don West, and Ed Ferrara. West & Ferrara are just really bad commentators, luckily Tenay was there to save the table. I really like Mike Tenay as commentator, his knowledge about wrestling is just over the roof, if it wasn't for him the commentary would suck badly!

Anyways let's get onto the matches shall we?
Tribute to the Legends
Steamboat welcomed the fans to the very first NWA-TNA event and has announced that the main event for the show will be a "Gaunlet for the Gold" match that will determine the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion!
But before Steamboat could even finish what he was saying, Jeff Jarrett suddenly barged in and started to trashtalk the legends saying that the fans didn't come here to see some old men but instead they came to see guys like him. Jackie Fargo didn't had any of that and started to talk back to Jarrett and even told Jarrett that he can kiss his ass! Oh good ol' Jackie Fargo, may you rest in peace.
Scott Hall and Ken Shamrock also came in and they claimed that they will be one to win the NWA Title. It was a good start for the show, having the legends in and some of the current roster for the company.
Match #1 - 6-Man Tag-Team Match:
AJ Styles,Low-Ki & Jerry Lynn vs The Flying Elvises
Overall this was an awesome match! A lot of highflying and other aerial maneuvers were seen, both teams were just really great to see! Although The Flying Elvises aren't the best gimmick out there, they were still very good performers in the ring nonetheless.
There were a lot of of great highflying spots that happened but Jimmy Wang's dive to AJ Styles was the one that managed to score the victory!
It is very surprising to me that AJ Styles has actually been with TNA since Day 1! It sucks that TNA nowadays doesn't know how to deal with their talent and they loss one of their biggest stars ever.
This is probably the second best match of the night, only behind the Main Event!
Match Rating: 8/10
Match #2 - Singles Midget Match:
Teo vs Hollywood
Anyhow, surprisingly this was a good match! Both midgets were excellent wrestlers and highflyers for that matter! Both men showed off their aerial skills but Teo was the one victorious after hitting Hollywood with a splash from over the top rope!
I never thought I would see a great midgets match (besides the WeeLC match between Hornswoggle & El Torito) so yeah, really refreshing to see that midgets are not only there to be squashed, but they can be excellent performers too!
Match Rating: 6/10 (would be more higher if it was a little longer)
Match #3 - Tag-Team Match:
Psicosis & James Storm vs The Johnsons (w/ Mortimer Plumtree)
Anyways this match happened, I believe this was the first and only match of the tag-team known as: The Johnsons. The Johnsons; Richard & Rod are basically two big men dressed in what it seems like white spandex so basically they are giant walking dicks... how did I missed this in my Worst Gimmicks List? Anyway my friend BigDaddyD has told me about em and at first I thought he was kidding but it turns out they were legit! Oh god... my eyes!
So yeah they faceoff with the team of Psicosis and "Cowboy" James Storm here. It was a pretty decent match but it was a weird match just because The Johnsons were in there.
At the latter part of the match, James Storm was about to hit his finisher until he got destructed by Johnsons' manager; Mortimer Plumtree allowing one of The Johnsons to get a pinfall off of James Storm.
What an awful finish! Did TNA at that time actually think these two would become tag-team champions? I'm glad they never did.
Fun Fact: The Johnsons were played by The Shane Twins aka Gymini in the WWE. Both were bad gimmicks.
Match Rating: 6/10
Match #4 - Tag-Team Match:
Christian York & Joey Matthews vs The Dupps (w/ Fluff Dupp)
So onto the match, we saw the team of Christian York & Joey Matthews take on the cousins; Stan & Bo Dupp accompanied by Fluff Dupp. The Dupps are basically your stereotypical redneck gimmick, this gimmick also went too far that Stan Dupp actually has a relationship with his cousin; Fluff! Oh dear...
Anyways this isn't that great of a match. York & Matthews did well but I wasn't too impressed of The Dupps. With the help of Fluffy doing the destractions, Bo Dupp managed to score the pinfall giving The Dupps a win in their debut on TNA! Christian York would stay in the company for a much longer time, while Joey Matthews would then come later to WWE as Joey Mercury (part of tag-teams such as MnM and now J&J Security.)
The Dupps didn't last long either, after this they only had a couple more matches before being released. Stan Dupp would later then come to WWE and be known as Trevor Murdoch.
Match Rating: 5/10
Match #5 - Main Event:
Gaunlet for the Gold
Anyways let me explain first what is a Gaunlet for the Gold match incase you don't know yet. It's basically a Royal Rumble match but with a little twist in the end. After all 18 other men are eliminated, the final two men will have a normal 1-on-1 match with Ricky Steamboat as special guest referee to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion!
So the first entrant was Jeff Jarrett. He was ordered to be No. 1 by Jackie Fargo after their trashtalk earlier in the evening. No. 2 was Buff Bagwell, much joy to the fans seeing Bagwell back in action after his neck injury in WCW.
The two had a good start, even Bagwell doing a fucking neckbreaker from the top rope to Jarrett! As he was about to eliminate Double J, Bagwell was thrown out of the ropes!
Entry No. 3 is Lash LeRoux who was a member of Misfits in Action on WCW (yes you will see a lot of WCW Alumni here, just heads up.) Lash was clearly out of shape here and he didn't even managed to hit one move on Jarrett and quickly got eliminated as well! Entry No. 4 is Norman Smiley who also barely got to hit anything on Jarrett, he managed to do his signature; Big Wiggle though before being eliminated!
Jeff Jarrett started out this sort of "streak" of eliminates until Entry No. 5 came in and it was Appolo. Appolo is a big man coming all the way from IWA in Puerto Rico! He gave Jarrett a hard time and the two had a good exchanges of blows. Jarrett was about to get eliminated until No. 6 came in and it was K-Crush who attacked Appolo from behind saving Jarrett!
After this the ring started to fill up with more people! No. 7 was a guy named Slash accompanied by James Mitchell, No. 8 was a guy named Del Rios who the fans cheered for cause they thought he was Scott Steiner, what a troll! No. 9 was Justice, a 300 pounder big guy, No. 10 was former WCW superstar; Konnan, and No. 11 was Bruce accompanied by Lenny Lane (they were called The Rainbow Express, basically a gay tag-team.)
No eliminates happened until No. 12 entered which is Rick Steiner! Steiner eliminated both Slash and Bruce. After that Entry No. 13 came in which is a very tall man named Malice, another one of James Mitchell's clients. Malice started chokeslamming almost everyone in the match and also eliminated half of the superstars in the ring! He eliminated; K-Crush,Justice,Del Rios,Konnan, and Rick Steiner!
Malice, being the heel he is sort of teamed up with Jeff Jarrett and they both started to gang up on Appolo. Until No. 14 came in and it was Scott Hall! Now it turns out like a tag-team match between Hall & Appolo vs Jarrett & Malice! A few second later, Tommy Keith entered the ring (but he's not an official entrant.) He just came in there to beat the ass of Jeff Jarrett even giving him a suplex! With the help of Scott Hall, Jarrett was eliminated by Keith! He then proceeded to follow to Jarrett backstage.
After that the ring started to fill up with superstars again, No. 15 was Chris Harris, No. 16 is The Vampire Warrior (aka Gangrel),No. 17 is Devon Storm (aka Crowbar),and No. 18 is Steve Corino whom Tenay said is the only former NWA World Heavyweight Champion in the match!
No. 19 then came along and it was Ken Shamrock! Shamrock came in and eliminated Corino, Shamrock also tried to put Malice down his knees but he got chokeslammed. No. 20 then came in (the last entrant) and it was Brian Christopher (aka Grandmaster Sexay)
He managed to eliminate; Chris Harris,Vampire Warrior, and Devon Storm! But after that he received a chokeslam from Malice. Shamrock then proceeded to eliminate Christopher after giving him a kick in the back which seemed like it really hurt!
So the final four were; Scott Hall,Appolo,Malice, and Ken Shamrock! Appolo and Hall double teamed up on Malice, while Shamrock strategically just watched. Appolo was about to eliminate Malice until he got thrown out! Hall then tried to hit The Razor's Edge on Malice but he got eliminated as well!
So it's down to the final two; Ken Shamrock against Malice! Ricky Steamboat then came into the ring and started the match. Malice started to match with the upper hand, until Shamrock did two submission moves on him, the first one is some sort of a Kimura Lock while the second was was an Ankle Lock. Malice managed to reach on the ropes on both submission holds.
After getting out of the Ankle Lock, Malice proceeded on trying to chokeslam Shamrock, but Shamrock evades it and then hits him with a Belly to Belly Suplex, pins him and BAM! Shamrock gets the victory and we have a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion!
Steamboat raises Ken Shamrock's arms and handed him the belt that was once his. It's a great moment! The fans cheered and it was surely an awesome match!
Match Rating: 8/10
This was an awesome show! I love the beginning with the legends on it and the matches were good. The main event is the greatest for me as well as the 6-Man Tag featuring guys from the X-Division. You can watch the whole show by clicking the button below! (Hurry up before they might take it down.)
