Being a son of a wrestling legend or Hall of Famer are one tough shoes to fill. Others are successful on doing so (just take The Rock and Bret Hart for example.) But other guys just don't have the charisma or wrestling talent unlike their fathers, grandfathers or other relatives. They are just, well; failures.
Anyways let's now re-ranked the 10 Worst 2nd/3rd Generation Wrestlers in Wrestling History!
Ted DiBiase Jr.
By all means, Ted DiBiase Jr. isn't that horrible of a wrestler. It's just that well, he's BORING!
His father is clearly one of the best heels of all time, but Ted Jr. just didn't inherit any of his father's charisma at all. He was one of the original members of "Legacy" a group of other 2nd/3rd generation wrestlers, out of Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes, Ted Jr. is clearly the "black sheep" of the group if you will.
Legacy feuded with DX and after they disbanded, Ted Jr. was stuck in the midcard and sometimes even on the lowcard! Even when they paired him up with Maryse, things just didn't work! You know it's bad when your valet has more charisma than you!
He also later on held the Million Dollar Championship which was handed to him by his father and hired Virgil as his bodyguard and tag-team partner as well but that didn't go anywhere as you might expect.
After he was released in WWE on 2013, he competed in the indies for a bit but decided to retire early at the age of 30 years old! DiBiase Jr. had potential, but his lack of charisma is what landed him on to this list.
Terry Gordy was a member of one of the greatest factions/tag-teams of all time; The Fabulous Freebirds! His son; Ray Gordy was also part of some tag-teams, some really awful ones though.
You might best remember Ray Gordy for his stint in the WWE as "Jesse" 1/2 of the tag-team; Jesse & Festus. It was a tag-team that wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, they mainly wrestled for SmackDown and ECW. They were No. 1 contenders for the tag-titles but never managed to hold it. In 2009, Jesse & Festus disbanded.
On 2009 until 2010, Jesse was re-packaged as "Slam Master J" who was a wannabe rapper and wanted to join; Cryme Tyme. He never became an "official member" and was only used as a jobber at this point of his career.
When he was released on 2010, Gordy retired in wrestling and began working as a police officer. Just like DiBiase, Ray Gordy ha potential but he was sadly wasted on awful gimmicks.
The only similarities between Scott Putski and his father was that they both got big physiques... and that pretty much ends there.
There are is only one word I can think of that can describe Scott Putski's wrestling career and that is; forgettable. During the early 90's after being trained by his father, Scott began wrestling for various territories in Texas, winning matches here and there.
In 1993 he made his WWF debut but only wrestled on dark matches. He was mainly losing those matches though, but he does get an occasional win over guys like "Iron" Mike Sharpe which isn't really that impressive if you ask me.
He also competed in the Royal Rumble 1994 but was eliminated just under 12 minutes.
After his first failed run in WWF, Scott began touring Mexico & Japan. He later returned to WWF in 1997, he won a match against Leif Cassidy on his return. He also had a short feud with Brian Christopher (who is a fellow 2nd Generation wrestler.) The feud even involved both men's fathers; Jerry Lawler & Ivan Putski.
The feud ended after Putski suffered an injury and was later released by WWF. He also went onto WCW, the only highlight of his forgettable career there was challenging Chris Jericho for the Television Title (he loss by the way, shocker!)
After a long hiatus in wrestling, Scott Putski is currently making a comeback in small promotions in Texas! But I don't think we'll ever see him again in WWE or NXT anytime soon.
Sim Snuka & Manu
So for the No. 7 spot we got a tie between; Manu (Afa Jr.) and Sim Snuka. I put them both on this spot because they pretty much had the same story.
First off Sim Snuka first competed in WWE as part of the "Deuce and Domino" tag-team where they were managed by Cherry Pie. They did managed to win the tag-team belts, but it was just an awful uncharismatic gimmick so no one cared about them. Manu on the other hand first competed as "Afa Jr." in WWE, his debut was a loss to "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and was later suspended for 30 days because of breaking WWE's wellness policy.
Later on both of these guys were re-packaged as members of The Legacy. Clearly both men just don't belong to the group. Randy Orton then put every member to the test, both Snuka & Manu loss their test matches so they were kicked out of the group. They wanted revenge against Orton & Cody Rhodes so they tried to beat them up with the help of Ted DiBiase Jr. but it turns out that Ted Jr. actually allied himself with Orton & Rhodes so they got betrayed.
After this, both guys rarely appeared on television. Snuka's last appearance was as a cameraman where he was supposed to catch The Undertaker during a dangerous dive spot, in which he failed miserably! After that incident he was released. Manu on the other hand was released due to a bad backstage attitude.
Overall both of these guys are below average wrestlers. In comparison to their fathers & siblings, they're just bad, like really bad.
The Orton Family is considered as one of the greatest wrestling families of all time! Bob Orton Sr. main evented multiple wrestling shows in his heyday, his son "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. was a big heel during the 80's,and of course Randy Orton is probably the biggest star out of the family, who became a 12-time World Champion!
And then there's Barry Orton... Barry is the brother of Cowboy Bob and wrestled for various promotions such as WWF,ICW,WOW,NWA,IWF,and Stampede Wrestling. In WWF he was a jobber and wrestled under the ring name "Barry O" but he is probably much better known for being a part of one of wrestling's biggest scandals.
In 1992, Orton filed a lawsuit against WWF for sexual abuse. According to him, former pro wrestler & booker at WWF at the time; Terry Garvin forced him into performing oral sex with him. He also claimed that there were numerous other men that Garvin sexually harassed in the business.
However all of these were turned out to be false claims! Due to this incident, Barry Orton was pretty much blacklisted in the wrestling world and fell down into obscurity.
Camacho - Son of Haku/Meng. Had potential but was sadly wasted in a stereotypical Mexican gimmick with Hunico, and HE'S NOT EVEN MEXICAN!
Chris Von Erich - Son of Fritz Von Erich. The smallest of all the Von Erich brothers and sadly the worst. He could easily take the No. 1 spot but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he had asthma & brittle bones which is why he was a terrible wrestler, at least he tried but he shouldn't had in the first place. RIP.
Curtis Axel - Son of Curt Hennig & Grandson of Larry "The Axe" Hennig. Combining the names of your grandpa & father isn't technically gonna make you a better wrestler. He just mainly lacks charisma, if you're "most charismatic" gimmick was imitating Hulk Hogan then you really lack hell lots of charisma.
DJ Pringle - Son of Paul Bearer/Percy Pringle. You know you're bad if you've been featured multiple times in Trash Bag Wrestlers! DJ Pringle is an out of shape and awful wrestler. Just watch this video if you don't believe me!
Jamie Dundee - Son of "Superstar" Bill Dundee. He's nothing but a drunk old man these days.
Wes Brisco - Son of Jerry Brisco & Nephew of Jack Brisco. Tried out for WWE but failed, he later was pushed in TNA but because of his lack in wrestling talent, he pretty much failed again. Apparently his father; Jerry Brisco hates and blocks anyone that criticizes his son online, so I better be careful huh?
Stan "The Man" Stasiak was a former WWWF Champion. While he may not be the best man to have held the belt, he still won the fucking belt for crying out loud! As for his son; Shawn Stasiak well he tried & failed a lot of times.
When Stasiak came into WWF in 1999 he was first involved in a weird love-angle between Jerry Lawler,The Kat,and Mae Young. This lasted for a couple of months with Stasiak mainly wrestling against The King.
After that stint, he was re-packaged as "Meat" wherein he was a man who always had sex before his matches! Yup...
He was known as the "boy-toy" of the Pretty Mean Sisters at this point, Oh My!
As Meat, Stasiak was treated as a jobber. He won a few matches here and there against The JOB Squad but that's pretty much about it. He was released after an altercation with Davey Boy Smith & Steve Blackman backstage, two men you don't wanna mess around with!
He then went on to WCW in which he was treated with a little respect, he won the WCW Tag-Team titles with Chuck Palumbo but that was pretty much about it. Most of his WCW run was pretty forgettable.
When WCW was bought out, he then returned to WWF as a part of the "Invasion" story line. He was first portrayed as a "clumsy" member of WCW and tried to impress their leader; Stone Cold multiple times but he always loss to his matches. Then on 2002 after the whole Invasion fiasco he had a gimmick where he had apparently his own planet which was; Planet Stasiak and he thought he was hearing voices in his head! (You're not Randy Orton, Shawn!)
He did win the Hardcore Championship a whooping 15 times under the Planet Stasiak gimmick! After being released once again, he decided to retire and became a chiropractor and motivational speaker, good for him!
Filling the shoes of one of the biggest superstars in wrestling history sure was a hard time! Before Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino was the first "big babyface" in WWWF and had one of the best reigns as the company's world champion! David definitely had a lot of pressure to live up to.
At the start of his career, David was either managing or teaming up with his father during matches. But the thing is, if his father isn't around him nobody gives a crap about him! He was a mediocre wrestler and had no ounce of charisma at all! During his whole tenure in the WWF, he was mainly a jobber. His first and only PPV appearance was on the first WrestleMania wherein he fought Brutus Beefcake.
One of the reasons why Bruno had a long grudge against Vince McMahon it's because his son wasn't used properly and was treated as a jobber. But can you blame Vince? He's just plain bad!
After his failed run in the WWF, David tried out for other promotions but you guessed it, he failed too! He went onto AWA and had a couple of matches, he even had a match against AWA Champion Stan Hansen in which he loss! He also wrestled in WCW wherein he only had one televised match against Dean Malenko for the Cruiserweight title but failed to win the belt.
David still wrestles occasionally these days but nobody cares anymore, even since the start, nobody cared.
David Flair is often considered as the worst 2nd Generation Wrestler! In fact he was the No. 1 spot on our countdown before, but trust me the two guys below him are far more worst!
When David came in to WCW, he was already involved in huge storylines well because he is a Flair! This was a huge disrespect to the other hardworking wrestlers back then. Just goes to show you how much politics were happening in WCW, which led to the company's downfall.
Anyways David became a member of the nWo after betraying his father, he is clearly one of the worst members of one of the best factions ever! During this time he had an on-screen relationship with Torrie Wilson. After leaving nWo, David made amends with his father and even won the WCW United States Championship!
Later on in his career, David was re-packaged into a "psychotic" gimmick and started hitting everybody with crowbars! He was later joined by well, Crowbar! They won the WCW Tag-Team titles for a short time.
After that he also had an on-screen relationship with Stacy Keibler, they even had a storyline wherein Stacy was supposedly pregnant and when their wedding was about to happen, Stacy revealed that it wasn't David's baby!
After WCW was bought out David went on to train in OVW (WWE's former developmental territory) but he never wrestled for the main roster. He did have one appearance wherein he was getting his ass kicked by The Undertaker during his feud against Ric Flair.
David is now retired in wrestling. Which is for the best! I guess though he can always brag that he had Stacy Keibler first before George Clooney!
Erik Watts has kinda the same story with David Flair, he was also pushed only because of his last name! Plus his father "Cowboy" Bill Watts was the head booker for WCW at the time which is why Erik had a lot of major pushes! The only difference between David Flair & Erik Watts though is that in my opinion; Watts is a lot worst!
While in his first run on WCW, despite just being professionally trained for three months Erik Watts was already getting major pushes because of his father. His major feud was against Arn Anderson! WCW and Bill Watts tried to shove Erik down to the throats of the WCW fans and thought of him as the next mega star, which obviously didn't happen because the man can't even do a proper dropkick!
When Bill Watts left WCW for WWF, Erik joined his father as well but this time Bill had limited influence so Watts was a part of the tag-team "Tekno Team 2000" which is one of the most awful tag-teams and gimmicks ever!
After flopping in WWF as well, he tried out for ECW,AJPW,and TNA all failing miserably in those promotions. I don't know why they keep hiring this guy! I'm not sure if he is still wrestling but who cares? Hell I can't even blame you if you didn't know who this schmuck is!
Angelo Mosca Jr.
Angelo Mosca Sr. is a legend both in wrestling & football. But his son? Well... he's a massive flop!
You know you're bad when a lot of people often claim you as the worst wrestler of all time! While he isn't for me, he did make it on to our Top 10 Worst Wrestlers of All Time list, that just goes to show you how awful Mosca Jr. is!
What boggles my mind is that he won the NWA Mid Atlantic Heavyweight title over Ivan Koloff! Like what were they thinking?! He is often claimed as a bad worker by other wrestlers & fans, he had a short run in WWF where he was managed by his dad but that did not last long and he was only mainly a jobber.
Mosca Jr. did not last long in wrestling he only had a career of 6 years, his last match was in 1987 during the MoscaMania event where he defeated "Pistol" Pez Whatley, after that he was never heard of again!
Angelo Mosca Sr. has been inducted on numerous Wrestling & Football Hall of Fames, but I highly doubt his son will ever receive any recognition... other than being one of the worst wrestlers ever & the worst 2nd Generation wrestler ever here on MWC! Congrats, I guess?
