Managers always have one purpose; do promos for your client and make the crowd hype for them! But some managers are just bad at doing these, and some don't even do that!
Managers are also a dying breed these days (mainly in WWE) and I'm sure if The Great Wizard & Freddie Blassie are still here to see some of the managers in this list, they would just continually shake there heads.
So without further ado, let's take a look at the 15 worst managers in wrestling!
(NOTE: Real date posted on 7/4/2015)
Armando Estrada (real life name: Hazem Ali) is actually a Palestinian guy who got turned into a sort of Cuban businessman gimmick in WWE. He was best known for managing Umaga.
He is best known for one thing and that is screaming his name before his promos: "My name is Armando Alejandroooo Estrada!" yes he does have some decent mic skills but that's it.
Later on he would be turned into a General Manager for WWE's ECW brand and would manage Tyson Kidd before being released. He is yet to return to WWE and I doubt he will anytime soon. He did play his gimmick well, I'll give him that but he's not memorable.
Mini Boogey is nothing special, he's just the midget version of Boogeyman doing the same antics. Eat worms,do the creepy entrance, etc. Hornswoggle at least gave us some comic relief but Mini Boogey is just boring.
The gimmick didn't last too long and I'm glad it did. The Boogeyman is better on his own.
He didn't do anything memorable at all and rarely does something good. Usually the typical interference here and there and that's basically it. He usually carries two things; a sign with "USA is not ok" on it and the Quebec flag.
Before being turned into a manager, Frenchy was actually a quite successful wrestler on some Canadian and Puerto Rican promotions.
With the likes of Bobby Heenan,Jimmy Hart, and Mr. Fuji in his era, Frenchy Martin was definitely outshined.
Like I said, managers are supposed to do the "mic work" for their clients but Kim Chee NEVER spoke a word out of his mouth. He's just there to keep Kamala in his "sanity" he's basically a zookeeper-type gimmick.
Luckily enough King Curtis Iaukea and Harvey Wippleman also became managers of Kamala and mostly did the mick work. Kim Chee is just there on the background doing his thing.
At some point, Kamala turned on Kim Chee & Harvey Wippleman and aligned himself with Slick. The two would re-unite again though in WrestleMania X-7 in a gimmick battle royal. Funny enough, Kamala accidentally eliminated his ol' handler.
Fun Fact: this gimmick was played by Steve Lombardi (aka The Brooklyn Brawler)
When Booker T had feuds with the likes of The Boogeyman,Goldust, and Kurt Angle, Sharmell always gets kidnapped by said wrestlers and has to be saved by Booker all the time!
Valets are supposed to be attractive and she did a decent job with that, but if all you do is scream and being kidnapped by your husband's rivals then just stay way from wrestling! God I hate her gimmick.
Coach basically managed Mr. Perfect after Bobby Heenan left him, he did nothing special and all he did was blow a whistle during Perfect's matches... and promos! He was nothing but annoying.
You thought Bill Alfonso was the first to do the "whistle" thing? No it was Coach and he did it so bad. Like why would you bother someone during their promos blowing your goddamn whistle all the time?!
Luckily it didn't last that long and I think John Tolos deserved better than that. Tolos is 1/2 of The Tolos Brothers tag-team is inducted on the Pro Wrestling Museum Hall of Fame.
Lanny Poffo had a career as a wrestler and manager, and he sucked on both. Poffo is best remembered as The Genius, where he read poetry and did annoying stuff. He also wore a graduation outfit, but that doesn't make you look like a genius, more of a stupid one.
If being annoying was his job and then he did pretty well at it. He is best known for managing The Beverly Brothers and even Mr. Perfect. Poor Lanny Poffo will never be like his brother; Randy Savage.
Also I could understand that Khali is 7 feet tall and his brother is like what 5 feet? What I don't understand is that Khali cannot speak English while his brother can?! It's just weird to me.
Daivari was a decent manager to Khali and Jinder Mahal was a intimidating one but Ranjin Singh is nothing but failure. Especially when Khali turned babyface, both of them were treated as jokes.
I don't know why but I also laugh when this happened to poor Ranjin!
She did nothing special other than enter the ring in roller skates. As they say, she is nothing more than an eye candy. She didn't had any charisma or whatsoever and was just plain boring.
If WWE gave her a better gimmick I'm sure she could have been a great valet.
She is the real life wife of Kenzo Suzuki and acted as his husband's valet for a short while. She just basically has a stereotypical Japanese accent with full on traditional clothing and makeup, nothing special.
Hiroko did had a one match in her short stint in the WWE and that is against Torrie Wilson, and it is not really the best divas match you could ask for.
After being released in 2005 along with her husband and many other wrestlers, Hiroko was forgotten by the fans.
Oscar's raps aren't memorable though. They are mainly cheesy and not that entertaining. He also never did mic work and later on Mabel & Mo would turn heel and ditch Oscar.
Men on a Mission is a bad gimmick to begin with, but I think the tag-team would have been better if they had a real well-known rapper for a manager. How awesome could've that been? Instead we got Oscar.
Momma Benjamin did had a lot of funny moments in her short time with WWE but the gimmick just made Shelton weak and look like a momma's boy other than making him look strong.
The gimmick is the one to blame for the failure, not Thea Vidale. She played it really well, it's just that it never worked with the fans.
He had the stereotypical Japanese gimmick and managed Kai En Tai. He didn't last long and was never successful as a manager for WWE. Other than the feud with Val Venis, nothing else he did was really memorable.
Yamaguchi-San was another victim of a crappy gimmick. He could have been like Mr. Fuji if only given the right direction.
Before coming to the WWF, Dusty Rhodes was quite the brawler and when he did came to said company, he was paired up with Sapphire. Sure the the fans loved their duo but even Dusty himself told Vince that "he liked Sapphire but having her around was pointless and should just be released." But Vince disagreed and said that Sapphire is the one who "made" Dusty's career in WWF and should stay, in which Dusty later on agreed.
Sapphire was remembered for her feud against "Sensational" Sherri Martel, in which she was outshined by the talented Sherri. Sapphire was a decent wrestler, but never a great one.
According to a shoot interview with Sherri Martel, Sapphire's admiration for Rhodes were legit and that she even broke down crying in the office finding out that their duo was being broken up.
Sapphire did entertain lots of fans in the world in her time but she isn't the best valet there is. Especially in her time with the likes of Sherri Martel and Miss Elizabeth were still around.
Babu is basically the servant of Tiger Ali Singh and has been just humiliated and being made fun of in his whole time by his "master." It can't get any more offensive than that!
He had a few matches which aren't memorable. Such as a tag-team match with him and Tiger Ali Singh against Kurrgan and Luna Vachon. Also in a singles match where he loss to Goldust.
Babu is basically what happens if you mix up the gimmicks of Ricardo Rodriguez and Virgil. But at least those two were somewhat memorable, Babu is not.
After being released in WWE, he went onto other promotions.
Thanks for reading.
