Leave your thoughts on the comments below.
(NOTE: Real date published on 6/20/2015)
Alberto El Patron
(father: Dos Caras)
Alberto started off his career as "Dos Caras Jr." basically following the footsteps of his father. But he made it big time when he got into the WWE and became multiple time WWE Champion!
His best known feuds were against John Cena,CM Punk,Sheamus, and Rey Mysterio. Alberto had a good run in WWE but it was ended after a clash with a racist reporter.
He is now doing well in the indies mainly in his home country; Mexico. Viva Del Rio!
Kevin Von Erich
(father: Fritz Von Erich)
Kevin doesn't get much credit for the great stuff he has done in wrestling. He is a former WCCW champion and has held various belts in NWA!
He is best known to wrestle in bare foot, and that wasn't really his intention though. Apparently someone from backstage stole his wrestling boots and was forced to wrestle bare foot and the rest is history as they say!
Kevin is also the one who mainly uses his father's submission maneuver; "The Claw" and was able to tapped out many opponents through the years. He has also demonstrated a lot of highflying moves in his career.
His sons; Ross and Marshall are currently training in for NXT, so it is nice to see that The Von Erich family's legacy will continue!
(father: Professor Boris Malenko)
Dean is the son of Boris Malenko; who is a legend in AWA and NWA. Professor Boris also started out a training school in which Dean learned how to wrestle. Some of his other well known graduates were; X-Pac,Demolition Ax,Gangrel,Norman Smiley,Tugboat, and Perry Saturn.
Dean is a former WCW champion and member of "The Four Horsemen" in WCW. He is best known for his feud against Chris Jericho in WCW and famous for being known to beat his opponents "1,000 different ways!"
(father: Don Morton)
Ricky has officially surpassed his father's legacy and I'm sure Don Morton is proud of it. He is a multiple time tag-team champion in various different promotions! I also think he has the best mullet in all of wrestling!
One would only think how well would Ricky even become if he was a singles competitor. The man has the charisma and skill so I'm sure he would do great! The Rock N Roll Express should definitely be in the Hall of Fame.
(father: Joe Blanchard)
Blanchard is great both as a singles and tag-team champion! His most memorable runs were with Arn Anderson as The Brain Busters and a part of the original; Four Horsemen!
Like Ricky Morton and other wrestlers on this list, he has definitely surpassed his father's legacy. Tully Blanchard is a true legend and an underrated one for that matter.
"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert
(father: Tommy Gilbert)
Eddie has held various belts in different promotions such as; NWA,CWF,UWF,WCCW,and WCW. Most of his best known feuds were against; Jerry Lawler,Ric Flair, and Tommy Rich!
He isn't only a great wrestler, but a manager as well. Did you know that he once managed the tag-team of Sting and Ultimate Warrior in their early years in wrestling? Yes he did!
His father; Tommy Gilbert is mainly a midcarder and had slight success with brother; Doug on Mid South promotions. Eddie is sadly gone now and has left the world way too early.
Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
(father: Johnny Valentine)
The Hammer first found success in NWA and Mid-Atlantic promotions. After that he came into the WWF and became a much bigger superstar! A heel everybody loved to hate. He is best known for his runs as the NWA United States Champion and WWF Intercontinental Champion.
Valentine is also known for his rough badass style of wrestling, beating and choking the hell out of his opponents! The Hammer has wrestled for over 4 decades and has been inducted to WWE's Hall of Fame.
"The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich
(father: Fritz Von Erich)
He is a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, mainly won the belt for the death of his brother; David. Also before the likes of Ultimate Warrior and Lex Luger came around, he has the "best physique" in wrestling.
Kerry also had a good run in WWF as The Texas Tornado where he became a one time Intercontinental Champion! He also had a great run in his father's promotion; WCCW.
If only drugs and injuries haven't taken over his life I think he would be a big superstar like Hulk Hogan maybe?
Dory Funk Jr.
(father: Dory Funk Sr.)
Dory Jr. is considered as one of the greatest NWA World Heavyweight Champions of all time, reigning with the belt for over 4 years and has defended it on different parts of the world!
He had a great run both as a singles and tag-team competitor. He made a name for himself both in Japan and USA, having great feuds with Dusty Rhodes and Mike Graham.
Dory Jr. is also the inventor of the move "Texas Cloverleaf" and is currently a trainer in his own wrestling school. You will see his brother Terry later in this list!
(father: "Cowboy" Bob Orton Jr. grandfather: Bob Orton Sr.)
Orton seems to be a total package. He has the wrestling ability, charisma, mic skills, and overall a good wrestler! Love him or hate him, you gotta admit that Orton is a good wrestler.
He is one of the best superstars of this decade and is a multiple time WWE Champion! The Viper also had great feuds in his career, against the likes of The Undertaker,Triple H, and of course John Cena!
His father; Cowboy Bob Orton almost made it in this list but I gave the spot to his son instead, not taking out anything from him as he is a great main eventer himself! Bob Orton Sr. on the other hand is a well known shooter.
Certainly, Randy Orton is the best wrestler in his family!
(father: Stu Hart)
Owen is a great worker and performer in general. Some people even say that if he didn't die too early, he would become WWE Champion and even surpass his brother; Bret which I could agree on!
He also had some great feuds and I think the best one was against his brother; Bret! The two really gave it all out in their matches and I'm sure there father Stu is proud. Rest in peace Owen!
"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase Sr.
(father: Mike DiBiase)
The Million Dollar Man is one of the best (if not the best) gimmicks of all time! Ted played the gimmick really well and he really makes you think that he's a crooked evil rich guy.
I also consider Ted DiBiase as one of the greatest legends that never won the WWE belt. He may have bought the title from Andre but it isn't official, he deserved better than that!
His father; Mike DiBiase was a rugged performer and sadly suffered a heart attack during a wrestling match. His son Ted DiBiase Jr. also became a WWE superstar but was far from being good like the real Million Dollar Man!
(father: Warren Bockwinkel)
Nick started out his career as a tag-team partner to his father, he then went into bigger things when he went solo and became multiple time AWA World Heavyweight champion! He had great wrestling ability and mic skills.
His best known feud was against Verne Gagne, in which both men delivered great matches many times for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship. He also had matches with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Rick Martel.
Jake "The Snake" Roberts
(father: Aurelian "Grizzly" Smith)
While he had a strained relationship with his father, Jake is still a 2nd generation superstar. His creepy way to deliver promos and good in-ring work is what made him a top star in his prime!
After overcoming his personal demons thanks to the help of DDP, Jake was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame just last year in 2014! Hoping for more great stuff from The Snake.
"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig
(father: Larry "The Axe" Hennig)
Hennig also joined WCW around 1997 and became one of the Four Horsemen. He became a one time WCW United States Champion and WCW Tag-Team Champion.
His son Joe Hennig (aka Curtis Axel) is still working his way through the WWE, although I don't think he will be as great as his father and grandfather.
He is considered as 10 of the greatest wrestlers in his time and was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame. There is really no other word to describe Curt Hennig and that is "Perfect."
(father: Gory Guerrero)
Eddie had a great career both in WCW & WWE. He is one of the best Mexican wrestlers ever and the man has it all; the talent, looks, charisma, and mic skills. He is a total package!
He has held multiple belts in his career, the biggest one of course is being the WWE Champion by defeating none other than Brock Lesnar himself! Yes, Eddie is one of the few people who managed to beat The Beast.
With his funny antics and great set of moves, Eddie amazed many wrestling fans in the world! That's why everybody was sad to find out about his sudden death. May you rest in peace Latino Heat!
(father: Dory Funk Sr.)
With all due respect to Dory Jr, I think Terry is the best of the two Funk Brothers! The hardcore legend first started out in the NWA where he became a one time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Some of his well known feuds as a heel were against Jack Brisco,Ric Flair, and Harley Race.
Terry also had decent runs in WWF, first having a quite successful tag-team with his brother Dory where they were managed by Jimmy Hart. His second run in the attitude era was also good and memorable where Terry got the gimmick; Chainsaw Charlie!
While he was a heel in the US, Terry was loved in Japan as a babyface! He has face the likes of Giant Baba,Jumbo Tsuruta, and Stan Hansen just to name a few there. As he grew older he became much more well known for his hardcore style of wrestling, literally putting his life through the line just to entertain fans!
Until today, Terry Funk still entertains fans from time to time. Whether how many "retirement" matches or injuries this old crazy bastard will have, he will still go and nobody can stop him!
"Macho Man" Randy Savage
(father: Angelo Poffo)
Macho Man has certainly became a much more bigger star than his father; Angelo Poffo. He is one of the biggest names in WWE history and one of the greatest champions in the company's history.
With all due respect to Hulk Hogan, but I think Savage is a better performer than he is. He first started out in various Memphis territories and worked his ass off to become a big superstar and in the end a legend!
I'm just now glad that The Macho Man is finally in the Hall of Fame. He certainly deserves to be there and I highly respect him for all the contributions he had for wrestling. OOOH YEAH!
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
(father: Rocky Johnson grandfather: "High" Chief" Peter Maivia)
The Rock came from a great family of wrestlers; The Anoa'i Family and became the biggest star from that family! He isn't just a wrestler, but a big time Hollywood superstar now.
He is a multiple time WWE Champion and had great feuds with many other legends and superstars, but my favorite was against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, those two just really gave it all out!
Whether as a babyface or a heel, The Rock can play his gimmicks well! Also in my opinion, he has the best mic skills in all of this business. Some might judge his wrestling abilities, but I think he's great.
He has got the skills and charisma of his father; Rocky Johnson and the intensity of his late grandfather; "High Chief" Peter Maivia. Only time will tell when we will see the People's Champ make it to the Hall of Fame!
Bret "Hitman" Hart
(father: Stu Hart)
Yes, for me Bret Hart is the greatest 2nd/3rd generation wrestler that has ever lived! The man is just great, there is no doubt about that. His passion for wrestling is respectable.
If there will ever be a list of "greatest wrestlers of all time" Bret Hart would be in my Top 5! Bret is one of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time and he has definitely made an impact in the wrestling business.
I may not agree to some of his views on other wrestlers, but if we just focus on his in-ring career then Bret is really a true legend. What else do you want me to say? He said it himself that he is the best there was!
So yes, The Hitman gets No. 1 spot on one of MWC's biggest lists yet!
