I kinda see BattleGround as some sort of filler PPV and is just a way to hype things up more for the upcoming much bigger PPV that is; SummerSlam.
Some news for BattleGround before I start my predictions: Ryback was injured on Monday Night RAW thus having his Intercontinental Championship match cancelled from what it seems like, The IC Belt seems to be "cursed" as guys like Barrett,Daniel Bryan, and now Ryback are getting injured after getting hold of the belt. Hopefully all goes well for The Big Guy!
And another news, but more of a rumor really is that The Undertaker could possibly make his return on this PPV! Could we see him go after Brock Lesnar? Who knows! All I know is if this is real, I'm excited to see The Deadman back in action!
So yeah that's mainly about it, let's start off with my predictions for this year's WWE BattleGround!
Share your thoughts, opinions, and predictions on the comments below. Thanks!
R-Truth vs King Barrett
So for the Kickoff Match we are going to see King Barrett defend his title as "King of the Ring" against R-Truth. And you know what, I wanted to see R-Truth as king! I don't know why honestly but I think it would be a fresh new gimmick for Truth.
Barrett winning the King of the Ring didn't really do anything big for him so I hope Truth will possibly get a title shot either at the IC or US belts soon if he wins this match.
Randy Orton vs Sheamus
As much as I'm a big fan of Randy Orton, I think Sheamus will win this faceoff between the both of them. WWE seems to be pushing Sheamus a lot recently, even winning the Money in the Bank match which was totally unexpected so yeah I think he will win.
Not really that big of a deal for a match but it should be a good one hopefully.
WWE Tag-Team Championships:
Prime Time Players (c) vs The New Day
You know what, I'm slowly starting to not hate The New Day but I still don't like their gimmick fully and I think PTP will still win this tag-team title bout even if it is a 3-on-2 disadvantage!
I'm a big fan of The Prime Time Players and I hope they get to reign more longer as tag-team champions and not just pass on the belt back to The New Day. I also think they should have more tag-teams in the tag-team division soon so we won't get to see the same teams 2 or 3 in a row in the same PPV.
But before I get to rant about WWE's tag-team division, like I said PTP will successfully defend their tag-team gold!
United States Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Kevin Owens
When I saw Kevin Owens dropped the NXT Championship to Finn Balor in Beast in the East, I immediately thought of him getting the US Title next off of John Cena!
These two have very impressive matches so far and I think the 2 in 2-1 will be Kevin Owens! I really do hope though that this would be their last encounter but I have a feeling this feud would extend until SummerSlam.
But whatever the case is, I see Kevin Owens winning the belt over John Cena on BattleGround!
Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt
Sorry Roman Reigns, but I think the so called "New Face of Fear" Bray Wyatt will win this match! I'm not only choosing Bray to win because I'm a big fan of his but also because I think it would really boost his career after successfully getting a victory over Reigns!
I think it would also be a great match between these two 3rd Generation Superstars, sure Reigns does suck on the mic but he's a good wrestler, Bray on the other hand is a total package.
This is the match I'm mainly most excited for in this card honestly. I do hope Bray wins it!
Main Event - WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
Seth Rollins (c) vs Brock Lesnar
So for the Main Event of the evening were going to see Rollins defend his WWE Title against The Beast himself; Brock Lesnar and as everyone predicts it to be, I also think Rollins will still retain the title but in a way of DQ of sorts to the "actual match" if you will shall occur on SummerSlam.
We've seen Brock dominate the hell outta Kofi Kingston and the rest of New Day in The Beast in the East and I think he would do the same to Rollins and probably some help from J&J Security,Kane,or whoever else goes in there.
Like I said it probably will be a DQ that will result as the finish for this match. Maybe Brock will get a chair and starts hitting Rollins with it, or he will take him outside and start beating him up until getting counted out but who knows really! Also the rumor about Taker's return might occur on this match.
I just think Lesnar won't win on this faceoff against the champion; Seth Rollins but probably on SummerSlam instead. Maybe with Dean Ambrose added in to the bunch?
